There has only been one perfect case of it in it's best scenario that I have found so far and that is my mother in law, Alpha. She had the rash, the doc ordered the Western Blot immediately and put her on antibiotics immediately. Lucky for her, by the time the labs came back, she was already on her way to being Lyme free because she had a SMART doctor!!!
I went to 2 different doctors for my rash and neither one of them even thought about it being Lyme. If they did, they did not mention it or act on it. That is how fast they must catch this because once that rash is gone, the symptoms are undetectable until they begin to cause other problems that lead the patient to a doctor's office.
For me, it was the legs twitching and tingling that took me to the chiropractor, who sent me to the neurologist, who THANKFULLY had my blood tested! Now, I'm beginning to have other symptoms such as the stiff neck, chills, pain in my knees and hips, difficulty with speech at times, (get my letters backward), mental confusion, blurry vision. Sugar and Caffeine are my enemies. Caffeine is the worse. One cup of regular coffee and ALL my CNS symptoms are sent into a tizzy for several hours. My brain goes into fast forward and my words can't keep up. . .it feels awful. Sugar just brings on fatigue, but sugar has always affected me that way, now it's just for a longer period of time.
Recently, I've done things such as write something on a piece of paper and not remember writing it or what it means. I wrote someone's birthday on my calendar and not only didn't remember writing it, I couldn't remember WHO it was! Today, I fixed Herb lunch, as I sat there watching him eat, I thought I had something cooking for myself. I turned around and looked at the stove, nothing there. I asked him, "Wasn't I fixing something for myself?" Of course, he didn't know. . . but, there was nothing in the microwave or on the stove. . . evidently, I was not cooking something for myself. Moments like that are becoming more frequent.
I'm reading and reading more about diet, natural antibiotics and how to help myself rather than relying on doctors. The people I find with Lyme, or who HAD Lyme, the more I'm finding that it is a very lonely disease and you have to figure it out on your own because the doctors won't or can't.
My friend Blou's hairdresser struggled with Lyme for 33 years. She has contacted me and is going to help me with diet and learn how she cured herself. She said the doctors almost killed her. So, I'm hoping she has great help for me.
So, today's Blog is just random thoughts. . .a little more detail on how it's affecting my every day life. One of the hardest thing is, when I have a 'symptom' . . . I wonder, "Is that a Lyme thing or is it just a random ache or pain or slip of the memory?" We all have these 'symptoms' off and on all the time . . .so how do I determine when it's a Lyme thing or not? The origin is basically irrelevant, it is what it is when it is.
Enough for now. . . .
