I have had a lot of aches and pains in my neck still and my hands, but I refuse to just blame every single thing on Lyme. SO, for now, I just say it's part of being 55 and active. After all, I did wash all the windows, rake the front yard, trimmed a very over grown agapanthus, all in one day. :)
The pain I was having last week is gone for the most part. I still have less that 100% range of motion when I turn my head to the left, but it's amazing how much better that feels.
My legs are almost NON twitchy now!! That's a great sign too! I've noticed it more and more this week. When I wake up in the morning is when I've noticed the twitching the most. But the past couple of days, I've woke up and had to literally 'try' to feel them twitching. I'd feel a little twitch here and there, but nothing like it used to be!
I want desperately to get back on my bike, but darn, my knees are hurting and I'm a bit leery! The last thing I need is to throw a knee out! I miss my bike. It is my escape, my exercise, it helps me think, and I'm sure it helps my health!
Had lunch yesterday with a friend. She told me the very sad story about a friend of her and her husband's who died from Lyme disease. He had Kaiser insurance and they would not acknowledge that he had chronic Lyme so he just got worse and worst until he was unable to breathe, walk, swallow food, or do anything for himself. It was a sad story. His started with twitching legs. :(
It just seems so stupid to me that the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) and the Center for Disease Control cannot see there ARE people suffering with chronic Lyme and they are not getting the medical care that they need!
Lord help us.
